Trusting your intuition over the way you’ve always done things can be fairly challenging. The comfort zone we create when we follow other’s expectations of us can seem very safe and secure. And when we’re ready for more in our lives and ready to follow that inner calling to start some new adventure, that safety is threatened!
So, we have to be armed with the right knowledge about what it really means to get out of ‘safety’ mode and into intuition. And we have to be prepared to practice. Because it takes a little time to trust our intuition completely.
Here are 3 things to keep in mind about your intuition:
But you only learn from it when you’re willing to.
What that means is that you can hear it, you can follow it, but it won’t take you where you expect it to. Your expectations are a problem, not your intuition. Your intuition is powerful because it DOESN’T take you where the mind does.
It takes you somewhere else. It takes you to a more powerful place. A place that only insight and love can really guide you to. A place the mind can’t perceive with the mind alone, and so it thwarts all of your expectations… as it should.
After all, you’ve potentially ended up in this place of not living out your dreams because your expectations were met…
There’s nothing soulful about those expectations!
The place you are right now is not God, or Source, or Soul’s only word to you. They are the expectations placed on you by the world around you. And you’ve accepted them as the only way your life can play out.
That’s not actually OK. These expectations are not all there is for you. The Soul’s word is the only thing that leads to true fulfillment for you. Why? Because it’s you, it’s literally YOU – from the inside out, it’s just you.
You are a Soul in a human body, having a physical experience. You’re not a body with a Soul. You ARE Soul. And if you live without this connection you find yourself deeply unsatisfied with life.
So, can you trust God and Soul’s word for you?
Can you choose to follow this word, spoken through your own intuition? Even though there’s a part of you very attached to the expectations that you’ve lived your life via for so long.
The answer is, of course, you can. But will you let yourself relearn how to live in this new way? It’s inconvenient to follow your intuition because it tells you things you don’t want to hear. Its voice very clearly defines what’s going wrong and what needs to be fixed, but will you do it? Will you change?
The answer is found in how you feel about this article! As you read it, do you feel ready to follow your intuition or not? If you don’t it’s no problem you’ll be there when you get there.
